Our dear friend and agent in Tokyo, Hitoshi Furuki, introduced the StarWheel mandalas to the Japanese public. A Japanese publisher picked up the StarWheels and published the entire collection of the 108 mandalas as a luxury set of 3 separate decks. The first SW deck was released in October 2009. The second deck in September 2010. And the third deck in May 2011.

When I tentatively asked if it would be possible to format the cards in the Golden Ratio size, the publisher was enthusiastically supportive and did a fantastic job printing this luxury set which was well received in Japan. Each deck of 33 StarWheels comes with a hardcover explanative booklet in Japanese and English. Each StarWheel shows the StarWheel Mandala image, Sutra and Picto-Koan.

However, in the aftermath of the Fukushima disaster, the publisher went bankrupt and the distribution of the 3 StarWheel decks stopped abruptly, while the stocks went to recycling.

I managed to have a few sets shipped to the usa. There are a dozen sets left. Needless to say, these are very rare collector's items. They are currently priced at $500 a deck, or $1,500 the set of 3. When only 6 sets will be left, the price will go up...

StarWheel Mandala Cards Deck 1 - Import from Japan

October 2009 release. This is the first of the 3 StarWheel decks published in Japan. This Deck #1 ("Galaxy") presents StarWheel series #7 through #9 (SW73 - SW108). Boxed Deck of 36 cards printed in Golden Rectangle format (about 4 inches x 6 and 3/8 inches or 10 cm x 16.2 cm). Each card with StarWheel image, Picto-Koan design and Sutra description (in English). 128 pages hard cover booklet (in Japanese). First edition out of print and reprint. Rare collector's item.
